Rosh Hashanah Card

These letterpress-printed Rosh Hashanah cards were made collaboratively by Jacob Romm of Letter and Spirit Press and EJ Youcha of Pashariko Bookbinding, using type and equipment collaboratively stewarded by the Jewish Book Arts Collective.

Inspired by a 1917 Rosh Hashanah card printed by Hebrew Publishing Company, showing the Messianic symbol of Leviathan encircling the globe, our illustration evokes the cycle of the year, the abundance of the fall harvest, and the traditional custom of eating a fish head on Rosh Hashanah so that we may "be the head and not the tail" in the coming year.
