"Everything is burning." This stark phrase opens the Fire Sermon, or Adittapariyaya Sutta, a succinct and striking teaching by the Buddha on suffering, the senses, and the construction of the self. This lightly abridged pocket edition is hand-bound in a cardboard matchbox cover, which can be sealed shut with velcro to protect the delicate pages inside.
